Purdue Welcome Week

Some of our mentors and students were able to help our teams in West Lafayette, IN and Chicago, IL during their Welcome Weeks. Here’s a snippet from Maria, one of our juniors (class of 2026), about her experience helping out :)

Being able to help the Purdue team and even the Chicago team with some of their events was an encouraging and fun experience but overwhelming as well. I’m not the most outgoing or comfortable around people I don’t know, but being on another college campus took the pressure off of a lot of the social events.

Something that really pushed me to try to connect with people and motivated me to help out was that just by one conversation, one interaction or touching one person’s heart, I could be changing one person’s life and inviting another person to the Kingdom of Heaven.

I hope that by the events our team helped with or the conversations and interactions we had, we have planted a seed of the Gospel in a person’s heart. Just like Paul said in 1 Corinthians 6:7, it doesn’t matter who plants the seed, it’s God that provides growth and I believe that God will nurture and grow even the smallest seed we have planted.
